the polling company, inc. specializes in quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, and provides strategic counsel for a diverse portfolio of clients in the political, corporate, public affairs, not-for-profit and media sectors. These clients have included the Heritage Foundation, Major League Baseball, Consumer Product Safety Commission, The Federalist Society, Coalition of Community Pharmacists, Center for Education Reform, Harlem Success Academy, Citrix Online, Arlington Public Schools, Let Freedom Ring, The Susan B. Anthony List, Grocery Manufacturers Of America, and Lifetime Television.

Research Interns will gain valuable experience in quantitative and qualitative research, including surveys and focus groups, and political analysis. Interns will be directly involved with every stage of project development, including assisting with background research for proposals, helping to design survey instruments, interpreting data, and will be integral in keeping other employees abreast of the news by performing some trends tracking. Interns will have the chance to pursue their own interests within the field of research designing their own end-of-semester project. In terms of hands-on research and analysis, this internship is most certainly substantive, and participating students leave the internship with solid research experience.


• Interns must be able to take initiative and work well without constant supervision to gain the most from this position. They will learn a great deal about specific polling methods, as well as how to analyze the results.

• The best match for this internship would be someone interested in survey and/or political research, political analysis, public relations, marketing, or grassroots activism. We are not looking for a particular political identification or ideology, although prospective interns should be aware that we do work for numerous conservative candidates and groups. Superb writing and analytical skills are required, and some knowledge of statistics or polling is helpful, although not necessary.
