Donor Relations Officer

The Goldwater Institute is in search of a Donor Relations Officer. The Officer will be responsible for implementing development strategies in Arizona and additional assigned regions. Primary responsibilities include identifying prospective fundraising opportunities with individuals and cultivating and managing relationships with major donors.
Ideally, the Donor Relations Officer will be based in Phoenix. However, Goldwater will consider a virtual office for a strong candidate.
Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects with a focus on soliciting gifts of $5,000 or more through face-to-face meetings.
Collaborate with the Vice President of Donor Relations and the development team to develop individual donor cultivation and solicitation plans and execute strategies to reach revenue goals.
Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual fundraising goals.
Develop strategic communication plans for high-level donors.
Research and approach new individual prospects.
Attend relevant meetings and events.
Travel roughly 50% of the time.
Five years related work experience fundraising in public policy organizations with annual budgets exceeding $10 million.
Exceptional writing skills.
A demonstrated history of setting and achieving concrete fundraising goals.
Experience cultivating relationships and making the ask.
In-depth knowledge of a diverse range of public policy issues.
Affable personality with a team player mentality.
