The ideal candidate has at least two years of event experience and will take part in supporting the execution of Mercatus events.
-Coordinating with event team members to ensure stated objectives and advanced
-Developing new metrics, enhancing existing metrics and reporting to increase event effectiveness
-Executing operational aspects of assigned events from beginning to end, including venue selection and coordination, contract negotiation, travel, budgeting, marketing, and post-event measurement
-Building and managing relationships with current and existing vendors, speakers, event attendees, and internal constituencies
-Supporting event team members to cross train, drive success, and support organizational needs
The Successful candidate will have/be:
-A strong interest in Mercatus Center’s mission
-At least two years of event planning experience in a fast-paced environment
-Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation
-An entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic, supported by commitment and follow-through
-Experience generating ideas and revising/improving existing methodologies, programs, etc.
-Organized, creative, adaptable, and detail-oriented
-A strong ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects effectively
-Superior time management and troubleshooting/conflict resolution skills
-Principled, ethical, and committed to exceptional work quality and standards
-An ability to travel both domestically and internationally
-Proficient IT skills including using Microsoft Office suite
