Financial Operations Associate

The Mercatus Center at George Mason University seeks a Financial Operations Associate to join the Finance Team. The Financial Operations Associate will work under the supervision of the Financial Operations Manager and will support program teams and other colleagues on various projects with Mercatus Center, as well as providing shared service functions for our sister organization, the Institute for Humane Studies.
Review and process accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate payment of expenses
Work with the development team to handle donation review, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deposits
Assist with management and reconciliation of company credit cards
Data entry into various systems and software to track financial data
Support program staff for successful program management
Support the finance team on special projects
Comply with standard accounting procedures and the Mercatus/IHS accountable plan to maintain healthy and transparent organizations
Organized and detail-oriented
Discretion and integrity when handling sensitive materials
Experience communicating effectively through verbal, written, and interpersonal modes.
Strong customer service orientation
Strong ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects effectively
Finance, accounting, or bookkeeping experience preferred
Strong interest in the mission of Mercatus Center and the Institute for Humane Studies
Experience with QuickBooks, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office suite desired
1-2 years' professional experience; non-profit preferred
