Position Description

FIRE is seeking a Graphic Design Assistant to help FIRE’s Lead Graphic and Interactive Designer produce print and digital marketing materials. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Aid in the design of digital and print materials, such as reports, social media campaigns, ads, flyers, shirts, infographics, and web pages;
Work with FIRE’s outside contractors when necessary to ensure that web and marketing projects are on time, on budget, and consistent with FIRE’s branding and mission;
Work closely with communication staff, including our video team and web developer;
Handle production work, such as making edits, laying out text, and adding graphical elements.
This is a 20 hour per week position and is expected to last for 6 months, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2017.


A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Proficiency in Illustrator and InDesign with working knowledge of Photoshop;
Experience designing for print and web;
Ability to work within a team and independently;
Excellent communication skills;
A personal system for organization and/or knowledge of organizational tools such as Asana;
Illustration and/or animation skills are a plus;
Working towards or have already obtained a certification or degree in design is a plus, but not required.
Salary and Compensation

This position pays $13 per hour. FIRE offers a commuter flexible spending account option that employees may contribute to monthly.
