The Mercatus Center at George Mason University seeks a part-time Office Assistant to provide general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks for our office desk reception area. This position will also provide shared services to Institute for Humane Studies (IHS).

Primary Responsibilities
-Greets and directs guest
-Answers telephones and directs the caller to the appropriate associate or associate's voicemail
-Receives, sorts and forwards incoming mail
-Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
-Assists in receiving office supplies
-Assists with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing and collating
-Validate parking tickets
-Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications
-High School diploma or GED
-Polished professional with outgoing attitude and be a team player
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Proficiency in general office applications
-Familiarity and working knowledge of general office machines
